Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

ImmigrantRoots ("we" or "us") helps immigrants understand everyday paperwork in their own language. This policy explains what information we collect on this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language so it is easy to understand.

What this policy covers

This policy covers our website and our waitlist. Our app is not available yet. Before the app launches, we will update this policy to explain how the app handles your information, and we will tell the people on our waitlist about the update.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need:

  • Waitlist form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the language you speak at home (optional), and the language you were using on our site.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, and your message.
  • Your language choice: saved only on your own device, so the site remembers your language next time. It is not sent to us.
  • Basic technical information: like every website, our hosting provider automatically handles things like your IP address and browser type to show you the site and keep it secure.

How we use your information

  • To add you to our waitlist and tell you when ImmigrantRoots launches.
  • To send you updates and founding member pricing information, if you agreed to receive them.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To learn which languages people need most, so we know what to add next.
  • To keep our website safe and working.

What we will never do

  • We will never sell your information.
  • We will never share your information with advertisers.
  • We will not send you marketing text messages.
  • We will never ask about your immigration status. Please do not include it in messages to us.

Companies that help us

We use a few trusted companies to run this website. They only handle your information to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel, which hosts our website.
  • FormSubmit, which delivers our form submissions to our email. It may keep a copy for a short time under its own policies.
  • Zoho Mail, which runs our email inbox.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only things this site saves on your device are your language choice and whether you closed the notice at the bottom of the page.

When the law requires us to share

We will only share your information with a government agency if the law requires it, such as a valid court order. When the law allows, we will try to tell you first.

How long we keep your information

We keep waitlist information while you are on our waitlist. If you ask us to delete it, we will do so within 30 days. We keep messages only as long as we need to answer them.

Your choices

  • Stop getting emails anytime by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
  • Ask to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@immigrantroots.com. We will reply within 30 days.

Children

This website is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as secure connections (HTTPS). No website can be 100% secure, but we work hard to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If the change is important, we will also email the people on our waitlist.
